For the better part of 20 years, I have documented numerous instances of shopping carts living out of their natural environment. Thus the stupid name for this project.
Having lived many years in the San Francisco bay area, and working in SF, I came across a plethora of carts in various stages of use/misuse. The vast majority of images captured for this collection come from my time there.
Many of these were originally posted to my instagram account.
